"Mystery River", somewhere in the Lake District...
Trip report — Mystery river... 15/10/2011
Eight paddlers (Ewan, Karen, Grace, Al, Ray, Dan and new members Anthony and Terry) met on a glorious Saturday morning for a bimble in the Lakes. A short debate about where to go settled on the ..., which was at a perfect level for a bit of playing on a few little waves. Karen saw a kingfisher soon after getting on the water at Southwaite and we carried on for the YHA rapids smoothly. Ray (in his Spanish Fly) and Terry (first river) encountered a few problems here, but everyone worked well to manage the party down the rapids. We got off the river just below the Derwent confluence to the disappointing news of Wales‘ defeat, but all agreed it had been a nice morning out.
