Year Plan 2016 (excel).
We hope to update this regularly, current date for it is 24/10/2016. It includes school holiday dates for 2016-19 as well. Members are asked to help us fill in dates with events they will run... A provisional calendar for 2017 is now part of this calendar.

Pool sessions
Our pool sessions have now restarted.
If you would like to come along please turn up at the pool on Tuesdays, start 8.00pm, or contact us via this website.
Pool prices: We have reluctantly had to increase our charges to £4.00 for members and £5.00 for non-members, from 6 September. We have kept our prices at their previous level for more than 10 years now and cannot absorb any more hire cost increases.

Outdoor trips

These are weather dependent, very much so in the case of river trips!
Members are encouraged to check for themselves things such as the weather conditions before paddling.

External events

Our local BC group have a number of events for women, sea kayaking and open boating organised for 2016, other clubs in the area often send us information regarding events they have organised. Our external events page has details.

Club Questionnaire

We are looking to find out what members think about the club and what they would like to happen in the future. We have produced a questionnaire in both microsoft word and plain text formats which members are invited to complete please. These can be returned either by email (address in the questionnaire) or by printing it out and leaving with the volunteers at the desk on Tuesdays. We would be grateful for these to be returned by 1st November.
Many thanks in advance for your help in shaping our future!

Waterways and Environment

Be aware...

October is Autumn! It can be pretty cool in windy conditions so please ensure you have enough clothing to keep you warm and carry safety gear as well as food / drink. There is less need for sun cream but... Be careful out there...

After last year's flooding many local rivers have changed. Many have debris and other items in them and may have changed their course in places.
The water in the rivers might be contaminated. Please be careful to take precautions with hygiene.
Please check websites / facebook groups for information before paddling!

Our friends at the West Cumbria Rivers Trust have sent us a copy of their latest newsletter - see what has been happening on and in our local rivers in the last few months! Download it here: WCRT News Summer 2016
