Waterways and Environment

Be aware...

Spring has arrived but it is still cool out there! The sea temperature is roughly 8C, Lakes a little warmer... It can be very cold in windy conditions so please ensure you have enough clothing to keep you warm and carry safety gear as well as food / drink... The sun (if you are lucky enough to see it) is now strong enough to give some skin damage so take sun cream with you! Be careful out there...

Please check websites / facebook groups for information before paddling!

Our friends at the West Cumbria Rivers Trust have sent us a copy of their latest newsletter - see what has been happening on and in our local rivers in the last few months! It has an interesting item regarding flood reduction in rivers. Download it here: WCRT News Autumn 2016
