protection
Not just your data needs protecting....
protecting people
As a club we are committed to Paddle England's Equity Policy and to its Protection Policy for Children and Vulnerable Groups of people.
Joe Stalker and Estelle Kay are our Welfare Officers and should be contacted personally at a pool session if you want any further information.
personal information and privacy
This is our description of how and why we handle your personal information.
Copeland Canoe Club takes your privacy seriously. We will only use your data for our administration needs.
How your information will be used:
When you become a member, or renew your membership with Copeland Canoe Club, you agree to the use of your personal data for administering your membership and for us contacting you with club notices relevant to your membership.
We will ask you how you wish to be contacted (our preference is email).
Occasionally we may want to send you communications not associated with your membership administration. We will ask you permission to do so.
You may unsubscribe at any time.
Photographs
The club occasionally takes photos of, or videos, its members. These may be used on our website, social media, local press, Paddle England website etc. They are also used to generally promote the club. We will ask you for permission for this. We ask you to confirm this choice if a child is involved.
Event Entry
We will also enter events on your or your child's behalf if you ask. We will only use personal data relevant for administering the event entry with the event organiser.
Security
Your details are held in an encrypted form on computer. Sensitive personal information such as any medical information you have chosen to give us that might affect your ability to paddle is shared with coaches on a "need to know" basis to help ensure your safety at club events.
We ask for details of someone to contact (eg a next of kin) in the unlikely event of needing to get in touch urgently. You should ensure that they have been asked and are happy for us to do so.
We will only retain your data for as long as we need to in order to administer your membership.
Sharing with Paddle England (PUK)
We will share your details with Paddle England if you are not already a PUK member. This is to provide insurance for your club activities.
If you are a PUK member, they will provide you with access to an online portal to administer your details. PUK will contact you to invite you to sign into and update your Go Membership portal. Among other things, the portal allows you to set and amend your privacy settings, and also sign up to their member newsletter if desired. You can also delete your account.
Calendar
Our club calendar is available as a google calendar and can be integrated with your calendar on a smartphone. Ask Al or Andy for more information.
